Air Seal duct work

Replace air filters frequently

Service HVAC equipment at least every two years

Verify adequate levels of insulation, and that it is installed correctly

Replace incandescent lighting with compact fluorescent lighting

Replace very old equipment and appliances that are energy star certified

Seal all holes/penetrations/gaps in the exterior building enclosure

Use low flow plumbing fixtures-conserve water

Use front end loader clothes washers-conserves water, and energy

Consider replacing old hot water heater with sealed combustion/on-demand/SDHW

Shade screen or tint windows that let in too much heat
